It is part of Florida's Castle Doctrine, but what I found interesting is how was applied in this case. I'm glad that the courts here are pretty good about interpreting the law like this. If you get hurt while committing a crime, then it is your own damn fault. Period. Doesn't matter if you slip and fall or if a homeowner shoots you.
We do have a lot of stupid laws here, but this is one of the good ones. |
