From the Armed Canadian
In the effort to promote responsible gun ownership and rights awareness...
If you have never shot a gun and would like to try, I am willing to take you shooting free of charge. I will provide the firearms, ammunition, eye/ear protection and I will cover your range fees.
Lotsa props! Fantastic idea. Nothing will help gun education and gun rights more than non-shooters having positive experiences at the range. Quick note about the Armed Canadian: he likes really really long posts apparently. So be prepared to do some reading should you decide to bookmark this one, because he's pretty long winded. That being said, he writes very well and generally has interesting things to say.
In other news...
Intelligently written piece about the stupid plans of some very stupid politicians
Article by an idiot who doesn't have a clue.
Article about some idiots. As usual, a few assholes like these giving an otherwise responsible and law-abiding community a bad name.
Save our Streets
Not a terrible idea... instead of just targeting guns, lets target the actual criminals. better yet, let's focus on drug dealing gang members. I don't usually like the idea of the gov't paying "tipsters" to rat out their fellow citizen, but I have no problem with people ratting out gang members with guns. Since most of the gun-related crime statistics you hear spouted by anti-gunners is gang related, reducing the number of gun-related crimes committed by gang members should cause a equally sharp decline in the overall statistics.
Now, with that being said, it is imperative that we maintain a watchful eye on how these tips are handled. Programs like this can be abused, which is detrimental to everyone's 2nd Amendment and/or 4th Amendment rights.
BTW - Ron Paul has a PhD (MD), so my "technocratic" leanings would be appeased if he runs. Unlike Rudy, he also has military experience, (5 years in the AF, as a surgeon.) Two more "pro" checkmarks.
