Skis Skis in the snow. I didn't even have to take them off to get the picture :) | Pond at Cooper's Rock We ski'd down to the pond at Cooper's Rocks. Beautiful scenery, absolute silence. |
Snack break Isaac and I took a little snack break down at the pond. | Sunset When the sun started to go down, we knew it was time to head back, since we both forgot our headlamps. |
Tearing Down Camp After an absolutely freezing cold night (low of 15 degrees F) we tore down camp. | Gearing Up Preparing for our hike... up the creek and over the ridge, to grandmother's house we go. |
Big Run Creek Good ol' Big Run Creek. We must have crossed it about 8 times. Good thing there was thin ice and fast moving water to make things interesting. | Big Run Creek (again) This is where we stopped for our first snack break. Gorp for me, cheese for some of the guys, and a ham sandwich with mayo for Ben. |
Ridge Road After topping out (well, almost, there was still a little elevation gain after this point) we stopped at this road for another quick snack before making the rest of the loop up, over, and back down the mountain. | North Fork of Anthony's Creek This is where we fished Sunday morning. Didn't catch a whole lot, but wow it was beautiful out there. And gorgeous weather! |
Joe Joe grinning because this was the first chance he had to ford a stream with his new (to him) jeep. (1 comments) | Joe and his Jeep Joe's ready to go. Got his waders on, got mud up on his jeep, and miles of clear mountain streams. |
Crayfish We didn't catch anything at first, except this little [crayfish|crawfish|crawdad|mudcrab]. It wouldn't let go though... that salmon egg must've been mighty tasty. | Trout After catching a handful of creek chub, I finally bagged my intended prey. I decided to let him go tho, since he wasn't much more than a few bites-worth. |
Rock Pile We found this rock pile by Anthony's Creek. I guess somebody was bored with fishing. |
